Hydrofarm's Jump Start™ Fluorescent Grow Light Systems have been completely redesigned with new cutting edge T-5 fluorescent technology that greatly outperforms standard T-8 or T-12 tubes.

T-5 fluorescents are almost twice as bright as old style T-12 tubes, so the new Jump Start systems only use a single, true daylight 6500K spectrum, T-5 tube.

For comparative purposes, the retired T-12 4-Foot Jump Start produced a total initial lumen output of 4900 using two (2) 40 watt T-12 tubes. The new and improved 4-Foot T-5 Jump Start produces 4860 initial lumens of true 6500K daylight using a single 54 watt tube.

The old-style 2-Foot Jump Start produced a total of 1950 initial lumens using two (2) 20 watt T-12 tubes. The new and improved 2-Foot T-5 Jump Start produces 2520 initial lumens using a single 28 watt tube.

Add to this a newly redesigned reflector with a highly reflective interior finish which directs more light down to your plants, where it's needed.
